Drama Ministry

Methodist Church Nigeria Drama Ministry was established on 1st October 2017 by His Eminence Dr. Samuel Chuckwuemeka Kanu Uche, Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria. Very Rev Sanjo Isaac Ilori P.hD. is appointed as the pioneer head of the Drama Ministry which is a Unit under the Directorate of Evangelism and Discipleship at the Headquarters -Wesley House 21/22 Marina Lagos.

The Drama Ministry functions in two division – Wesleyan Theatre, and Wesleyan Film. The theatre division stages plays in local churches, halls and on convention ground. The film division has shot two films which have been uploaded on Wesleyan Films Youtube. The films are:

Projects of Methodist Church Nigeria Drama Ministry are in short and long terms. In short term projects, the drama ministry goes on Performance, it organizes Trainning and Empowerment programmes and Publishes plays. In long term projects, the ministry produces evangelical films and it plans to build a cinema/theatre.

The gift of God as it relates to Drama spreads across people irrespective of age, gender or status. Hence, the Drama Ministry functions from Conference headquarters to Archdiocesan level, Diocesan level, circuit and local churches. Apart from the Conference coordinator and officials that see to the affairs of the ministry, Dioceses and Circuits also have coordinators who are either clergy or lay people that keep the drama ministry running at different levels of the church.
